Jacob Walker

Program Coordinator

Jacob Walker (he/him) is a passionate environmentalist, writer, and filmmaker with years of experience working outdoors. Jacob grew up in Thousand Oaks, California, with the Santa Monica mountains as his backyard. This proximity to nature led to deep connectivity with LA county’s native flora, fauna, and natural spaces. An avid storyteller and community organizer, Jacob has worked in film production, volunteered with interfaith organizations, and run an educational community garden while earning his bachelor’s degree at Chapman University. Jacob also spent time volunteering abroad, working on an organic farming community, teaching local elementary schoolers, and learning about sustainable building and culture during his time with the organization Project 10.

Jacob hopes to become a “climate communicator” and use his skills as a storyteller, teacher, and naturalist to write books and direct documentaries that inspire climate action. When he’s not teaching or writing, Jacob can be found hiking, reading, meditating, or running.
