Roberto "Bobby" Guevera

Teacher

Bobby (they/them) grew up in LA exploring the San Gabriel Mountains with friends and family. Their love and passion for nature was sparked at an early age with their first visit to Muir Woods. It was there that their young mind was exposed to some of the beauty that California has to offer and the sad fact that people had to fight in order to protect our land. This quote from John Muir, “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves,” helped to guide their journey through life.

Their love for the outdoors led them to spend some time in Utah. Wanting to spend less time indoors, Bobby chose to start teaching cycling and bike safety to kids throughout the state. After moving back to LA, they went on to use their love of plants to teach organic gardening at schools throughout LA before finding their place with BioCitizen.

When Bobby is not outdoors in nature hiking, they love to spend their free time with their dog Burrito, traveling, and playing Bike Polo! Indoors they love to play Magic the Gathering.
