Amy Sánchez

Amy was born and raised in the homelands of the Tongva, Chumash, and Fernandeño Tataviam peoples, in what is now known as the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County. Her education moved her to Davis, California where her interest in the outdoors grew through getting to know the Sierras and the California coast, driving her to pursue a career in environmental education. Completing her masters in the Pacific Northwest encouraged her to focus on relationships to land, social justice within education, and identity development. She is excited to continue her own understanding of these intersecting ideas by working with Biocitizen’s students in her hometown.
