“endangered species” live near you

When we hear the phrase “endangered species,” images of gorillas and tigers come to mind. And for good reason.

But look at this map; we here in Nonotuck live near “endangered species”—their communities are outlined in yellow:

We don’t have to travel to Africa or Siberia to witness precious lives that cling precariously to earth. One of these “rare and endangered species communities” is bisected by Rt. 91, as it passes through Hatfield:
